Family Farm is an exciting new venture at Dublin Zoo. Family Farm is a purpose built interpretative acre that represents modern Irish farm life. Established on the grounds of Dublin Zoo’s old City Farm, this redeveloped area of educational fun is a must see feature of the zoo and is integral to communicating the importance of Irish agriculture to hundreds of visitors daily. O’Dwyer Steel supplied and erected the typical farm buildings on a miniature scale to house all the usual farm animals found on Irish farms.

1 acre (Ireland’s smallest farm).
O’Dwyer Steel through its variety and design of its farm buildings on this project aimed to equip both young and old with a solid understanding and appreciation of agricultural life in Ireland. Standard agricultural design principles were implemented during this project on a miniature scale. In the summer of 2010 Family Farm was officially launched as Ireland’s smallest farm.
All buildings were engineered to meet the minimum specification for farm buildings in Ireland as set out by The Department of Agriculture.
